IRVING, Texas (KXAN) - Big 12 newcomer TCU is scheduled to play the first conference game of the 2012 season with a Sept. 15 visit to Kansas.
However, according to sources close to The University of Texas football program, that game is expected to be moved to Thanksgiving Day, due to television schedules.
The Big 12 released its 10-team, round-robin schedule Tuesday after West Virginia announced it has settled a lawsuit with the Big East that clears the way for the Mountaineers to begin play in the Big 12 next season.
TCU and West Virginia will replace Texas A&M and Missouri, who are leaving for the SEC.
West Virginia is set to play its first Big 12 game Sept. 29 at home against Baylor.
The Big 12 says schedule adjustments are likely to accommodate requests by its television partners.
