MONTPELLIER, France (AP) - Lance Armstrong has moved into second place at the Tour de France, a split second behind overall leader Fabian Cancellara.
Armstrong's Astana team won the team time trial Tuesday on a sunny, 24.2-mile course in and around Montpellier.
The seven-time Tour champion started the day in third place. The Tour ends July 26 in Paris.
Caisse d'Epargne riders started first in the fourth stage of the Tour, while Armstrong's Astana team started last.
Armstrong took advantage of a late breakaway during Monday's third stage to move up to third place while his rival and teammate Alberto Contador and other favorites were trapped in the peloton.
It was the first time since 2005 the riders compete in a team time-trial during the Tour de France.
