AUSTIN, Texas (KXAN) -- School begins for kids in Lago Vista, Pflugerville and Round Rock on Tuesday.
Thanks to a $268 million bond package passed in 2006, three new elementary schools and one new middle school in Round Rock will open its doors.
Walsh Middle School is considered to be one of the most high-tech campuses in Round Rock.
Not only is the entire campus wireless, it also offers technology in the classroom to help out the teachers.
Students attending total 850 this year, but in a couple of years, it could be as full as 1,200 students.
"We're relieving the overcrowded middle schools that are feeding into our Cedar Valley, Hopewell and Grishum, opening this community to a brand new opportunity," said Toni Hicks, Walsh Middle School Principal.
School officials said most of the kids who attend Walsh Middle School will either walk or ride their bike to get to class.
