AUSTIN, Texas (KXAN) -- Police are looking for two people who beat and robbed a man who answered a Craigslist ad.
The victim answered an ad he found on the popular classifieds Web site.
"She was listed on there as a escort," said police Detective Trey Kleinert. "She just said that was how much it cost to be with me for this amount of time. As far as I know, there was no sexual contact involved."
The victim met a woman named "Coco" at the Red Roof Inn on Interstate 35. The victim was to pay $150 an hour to Coco, but police said her real name is Jessica Campbell.
When the victim became uncomfortable, he said the situation became violent.
"A gentleman came in and said, âGive me your money,' and at one point in time motioned to his waistband that he might have a weapon," Kleinert said.
Police said Christopher Ozell Phoenix was Campbell's accomplice. They are looking for both suspects in this case. There is concern that the two are on the loose and could hurt someone else.
"He forced the victim back into the restroom, pinned him against the wall, hit him a few times, felt on his pocket and ended up taking the cash that he had," Kleinert said.
Police warn against meeting anyone through a personal ad in a private place.
"It's extremely dangerous, you never know who is going to be there, who their friends may be," Kleinert said.
