Downtown streets to close for weekend's Texas Relays

AUSTIN, Texas (KXAN) -- For those headed to Downtown Austin this weekend, expect street closures because of the Texas Relays.

The following streets will close about 7 p.m. Friday:

• Sixth Street, between Brazos Street and the frontage road of Interstate 35
• Sixth Street, on the east side of I-35, between the frontage road and San Marcos
• Northbound Sixth Street exit ramp
• Southbound exit ramps, from Cesar Chavez to 12th streets
• Brushy Street, between Fifth, Sixth and Seventh streets, from the east frontage road to San Marcos
• The turnaround at Fifth Street

Cars parked in the 500 and 600 blocks of Sabine, Red River, Neches, Trinity and San Jacinto streets will be towed.          

Police said all roads will reopen Sunday morning.
