Austin slips in single life ranking

AUSTIN, Texas (KXAN) -- Forbes Magazine ranked Austin as the 14th best city in the nation for singles. This rank was two spots lower than in 2007's list. About 29 percent of Austin's population is unmarried.

Several factors are used in the rankings. Austin ranked first in job creation, but the city fell  short in culture, where it is ranked 36th. The cost of living alone and coolness were other factors. 

Atlanta, San Francisco, and Dallas were the top three cities. San Antonio and Houston were also in the top 20.
