Austin's tallest building going up

AUSTIN, Texas (KXAN) -- The Austonian ended speculation and began construction of its residential tower.

The Austonian poured the final floor of the 56-story building's base, and the development team will reveal a construction timeline Thursday and unveil new renderings during a media event.

Taking place on the 10th floor of the building, the event will provide the first opportunity for media to stand on the completed base and view the finished floor, pool and the beginning construction of the first floor of the residential tower located on the 11th floor.

This is an opportunity to assure Austinites that the downtown development is moving steadily and that Austin's tallest building is going up.
