WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) - The national search for a 20-year-old murder suspect Zachary Price has ended on Thursday just before 3 p.m. in California.
Price had been on the run since July 3 after being accused of stabbing his mother's boyfriend, Richard Meyers, to death. He got into an argument with Meyers about a $300 veterinarian bill over a stray cat that Price found, authorities have said.
California Highway patrol spotted Price’s car in Laytonville, Calif., close by the site of the Gaia Music Festival in Northern Mendocino County.
Price was arrested without incident and will be brought back to Williamson County in the next few days.
The details of Price’s arrest were not released.
The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office thanked members of the US Marshals Office and their Lone Star Fugitive Task Force, as well as, The Texas Attorney General’s Office, The Texas Department of Public Safety and the California Highway Patrol for their diligence in this case.
