BASTROP COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) - Two are dead in a morning accident on a road in Bastrop County.
Bastrop County Sheriff's Office said the two-car accident happened just after 9 a.m. on FM 2336 near Holiday Drive, just north of Camp Swift. The drivers of both vehicles died on the scene.
According to the Department of Public Safety, Jason Lee, 19, fell asleep at the wheel of his truck and drifted into the lane of oncoming traffic. His truck hit a Mazda being driven by Laura Ashley, 50.
A passenger in Lee's vehicle, David Thompson, 18, was taken to Brackenridge Hospital. As of Sunday night, Thompson was in fair condition.
