Woman run over for parking spot

(CNN) - A vigil was held Sunday for friends and family of Portia Thompson, who remains hospitalized in serious condition.

Thompson was ran over by an SUV the day before Thanksgiving in a dispute over a parking place at a Houston Wal-Mart. Family members said many of her internal organs have failed and she cannot breathe on her own.

Community activist Quanell X led the vigil. Thompson's older brother was with her when the incident took place.

"People value parking spaces more than they value human life," said Quanell X. "This type of senseless violence must stop."

The search continues for the suspect who was driving the Dodge Durango.
