AUSTIN (KXAN) - Between 2,000 and 3,000 motorcyclists descended upon the Capitol Monday to ensure helmet laws do not get passed.

"I think they just want to have the ability to choose," said Eric Babnew, with the Fort Bend Gypsies.

The motorcyclists come every session to promote the bills they believe need to be passed. Babnew said they will push for a bill punishing those who fail to yield the right-of-way to bikers and a bill that will ensure bikers get equal access to businesses, even when dressed in motorcycle gear.

"We just want fair treatment," said Babnew. "That's all."
