ANNA, Texas (AP) - Medical Center of McKinney discharged nine students Wednesday night after suffering minor injuries in a school bus wreck in North Texas. A statement Wednesday night from the hospital said they had been released.

At least 14 students suffered minor injuries Wednesday in the bus wreck that left a broken utility pole on top of the vehicle. Police said no serious injuries have been reported in the wreck in Anna, Texas, which is about 40 miles north of Dallas.

Anna Police Chief Kenneth Jenks said the bus was transporting between 40 and 50 students when it jumped a curb, crossed a daycare center parking lot and hit the utility pole. The front of the bus was damaged.

Police said no other vehicles were involved, and the bus driver was being interviewed. Anna is a town of about 2,000.
