Longhorn and Aggie fans reminisce

Rivalry on and off the field will continue

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KXAN) - Longhorn fans and Aggie fans are going through a tough break-up this holiday season. Both parties will have to part ways after the game on Thursday night and say farewell to a relationship built on rivalry.

On Wednesday night, it was a heart warming sight, Longhorns and Aggies sharing one last tailgate together, but it begs the question: How many Aggies does it take to put up a tent?

One Aggie said, "Is it unfair to suggest an Aggie needs help from a Longhorn to set up a tent? That is unfair. But it appears to be the case. No, they're [Longhorns] screwing up the process."

One Longhorn is attending his first showdown at Kyle Field, and he said the reception has been very mixed.

Tomorrow marks the 118th meeting between the Horns and Aggies, the third longest running rivalry in college football.

Whether you say “gig ‘em” or “hook ‘em,” just don't say this is the end of a long and beautiful friendship.
