EL PASO, Texas (AP) - El Paso police have counted nearly $1.2 million in alleged drug money from garbage bags, two safes and the wall of a home.

Authorities are now looking for the owner of the condominium.

The El Paso Times reported Thursday that court papers outline just how much money officials took away on Feb. 5.

Workers found the cash while they were trying to fix broken pipes after a cold snap.

Police said some of the money was coated with talcum powder and sealed in plastic bags, in an attempt to mislead drug-sniffing dogs.

Maintenance workers said the condo seemed to be "not lived in."

Filed Tuesday, court papers describe the home as unfurnished and dusty "as if no one had been there in a long time."
