Dewhurst, Cruz trade attacks in debate

DALLAS (AP) - The Republicans vying to fill Texas' open U.S. Senate seat have traded a volley of pointed attacks in a debate as their race enters its final two weeks.
Tuesday's debate at WFAA in Dallas featured some of the most-intense moments yet of what has already been a fiercely contested race between Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst and former state Solicitor General Ted Cruz.
The pair will meet in a runoff election July 31.
Dewhurst criticized Cruz for once representing a Chinese company in an intellectual property case. Cruz asked how much of his personal wealth Dewhurst has invested in China.
That was one of several tense exchanges.
Dewhurst won the May 29 primary, but didn't get the majority needed for the Republican nomination to replace retiring U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison.
