Been in jail since April 9

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) - A federal grand jury has indicted a North Texas topless-club owner accused of organizing a failed plot to kill a mayor and an attorney.

Prosecutors in Fort Worth on Thursday announced the indictment of Ryan Walker Grant of Kennedale.

Grant was indicted Wednesday on counts of murder for hire and unlawfully transferring a firearm. Each count carries a maximum prison sentence of 10 years.

Grant has been jailed since his April 9 arrest for allegedly seeking a Mexican hit man to kill Arlington Mayor Robert Cluck and attorney Tom Brandt of Dallas. Brandt does legal work for Arlington. Nobody was hurt.

Authorities allege Grant plotted the attack because his Arlington club, Flashdancer Cabaret, has been closed by the city.

An attorney for Grant was unavailable for comment Thursday.
