AUSTIN (KXAN) - The Capitol Christmas tree is in Austin Tuesday afternoon.

The tree landed in the Texas capital Monday, and for the second year in a row it came from North Texas.

The owners of Elves Christmas Tree Farm in Denison said Capitol officials were so impressed with last year's tree that they came back for another one.

"I got several calls and emails from people from the House and the area telling us that it was the prettiest tree they've ever had, so that was a great compliment coming from the people down in Austin," said Elves Christmas Tree Farm owner Marshall Cathey.

This year's tree is a 21-foot Virginia pine.

A special tree-lighting ceremony is set for Saturday at 7 p.m.
