UVALDE, Texas (AP) - The U.S. Border Patrol says one of its agents has been struck and killed by a car while he was helping another motorist.
Border Patrol spokesman Bill Brooks says the death of agent James Dominguez "appears it was an accident."
Brooks said Dominguez was on U.S. 90 about 100 miles west of San Antonio when he stopped to aid a driver and was struck by an oncoming car.
The 12-year Border Patrol veteran was assigned to the Uvalde section in the Del Rio Border Patrol Sector and was on duty at the time of his death. He's survived by his wife and four children.
