WICHITA FALLS, Texas (AP) - Puppy love for an Archer City boy meant asking for animal-friendly birthday presents that he could donate to a rescue group.

Keelan Coit on Saturday celebrated turning 6 years old and had a party where the presents included bags of dog- and cat food, kitty litter, cleaning supplies, paper towels and cash.

The boy and his mother, Lisa Stewart, on Monday presented the birthday haul to the Wichita County Humane Society.

Keelan and his family have several cats and a puppy. He said he decided to ask for and donate his birthday presents after watching a TV commercial "about all the sad animals."

Grandmother Milly Jones describes Keelan as a "good boy" who loves animals.
