Big business back to start-up venture

DUBLIN, Texas (CNN) - After losing its rights to bottle Dr. Pepper, Dublin Bottling Works is fighting to reinvent its soda business.

Owner Jeff Kloster has been pounding the pavement trying to secure new franchises for his remaining pure-sugar sodas.

You might remember last month in a settlement with Dr. Pepper Snapple Group, Dublin Bottling lost the rights to produce the cane sugar version of Dr. Pepper that made them famous.

Maple and Motor in the Dallas area is one of Kloster's new customers.

"I think there are hundreds to come, and that's what we're working on," said Kloster.

"They're good at what they do. This is a great product," said Maple and Motor owner Jack Perkins.

In a statement, Dr. Pepper Snapple Group said it wanted Dublin to continue bottling for them.

However, the companies couldn't agree to terms on a franchise agreement.
