AUSTIN (KXAN) - The topic of renewable energy is energizing discussions at the
Texas Renewables '08 Conference in South Austin.
More than 60 Texas businesses and economic leaders from
around the world are slated to speak at the three day event,
focusing on renewable energy sources like wind, solar, hydro and
geothermal electric energy. The only conference of its kind, its
focus encompasses all aspects of renewable energy.
"Renewable energy is the wave of the future and the wave of
the present," said Russel Smith, Texas Renewable Energy Industries
Association Executive Director.
Smith belives it is vital for Texas to expand its energy
products and resources in order to remain an energy leader.
"If you combine them all, Texas has the largest renewable
energy potential of any state in the country," said Smith.
