AUSTIN (KXAN) - With Tropical Storm Hermine bearing down on southern Texas, a Georgetown couple is ready to do its part to help.
Fred and Marcia Marks volunteer for the American Red Cross of Central Texas. The two already made two trips to the Rio Grande Valley after Hurricane Alex.
Monday they loaded the Red Cross' Emergency Response Vehicle. They plan to spend Monday night in Victoria, then will respond however they are needed.
"They need the help we can provide them, they need the support we can provide them," said Marcia Marks. "They just need a face, someone to smile and tell them 'today's a bad day, but a better day is coming."
The Marks will be able to provide food and supplies and even survey damage after Hermine hits.
