BRYAN, Texas (KXAN) - A 19-year-old former Texas State University student was arrested and charged on Tuesday in the Oct. 18 bomb threat that resulted in the evacuation of three buildings.
The Bryan Police Department arrested Brittany Nicole Henderson in Brazos County following an investigation led by Texas State University police and other law enforcement agencies.
Investigators traced the threatening messages to an email account allegedly belonging to Henderson. Officials did not make the contents of the email public.
She was charged with making a terroristic threat, a third-degree felony; and making a false alarm, a Class A misdemeanor. Henderson was in the Brazos County Jail on Wednesday, awaiting extradition to Hays County.
Henderson enrolled at Texas State in fall 2011 and withdrew from the university Sept. 26.
Besides the Texas State University Police Department, the investigation included officials with the FBI's Joint Terrorist Task Force, the Austin Police Department Bomb Squad, the San Marcos Police Department, the Texas Highway Patrol, the Hays County Sheriff's Office, the Bryan Police Department, the Texas Department of Public Safety Fusion Center, the San Marcos Fire Department and the Our Lady of the Lake University Police Department.
The Austin Bomb Squad conducted a sweep but no explosives were found.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
