Appeals judge seeks re-election

AUSTIN (KXAN) - Judge Lawrence "Larry" Meyers said Wednesday he is seeking re-election for his fourth term on the Texas court of criminal appeals.

The recent re-appointment of attorney Rick Wetzel for Meyer's campaign treasurer is the first step of his re-election announcement.

"I am seeking re-election to the court to continue to be an objective voice and ensure that we maintain our reputation for delivering fair and just opinions," said Meyers.

Meyers has been the longest serving member on the Texas court. He will be a candidate for the Republican primary election March 2, 2010.
