FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) - A police report indicates officers had observed an extremely intoxicated man leaving a Fort Worth gay bar two days before a raid at the Rainbow Lounge.

WFAA-TV cited a police report on the June 28 joint raid at the Rainbow Lounge, including Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission officers. A patron suffered a serious head injury during the raid.

Fort Worth Mayor Mike Moncrief apologized about the incident during a packed city council meeting Tuesday night. Moncrief later said his apology was not for the raid but rather for a man being
seriously hurt.

City spokesman Bill Begley said Wednesday that the mayor has asked federal prosecutors to review the police investigation of the joint raid.
