AUSTIN (AP) — The Texas Department of Public Safety has expanded its efforts to solve cold case slayings by offering an online update on a dozen investigations.

DPS officials on Wednesday unveiled the Texas Rangers unsolved homicides webpage featuring two cases from each of the agency's six regions. The public will have the opportunity to submit tips or other information online via the webpage.

Director Steve McCraw says DPS wants to send a clear message that investigators are not giving up on the victims.

Texas Rangers and local law enforcement agencies will also take another look at evidence and persons of interest. Many of the unsolved cases involve smaller or rural law enforcement agencies.
