AUSTIN (KXAN) - The South by Southwest Film Festival wraps up Saturday night with the screening of one big Hollywood film and a smaller independent one made by an Austinite.
The closing film is called The Overbrook Brothers and it’s directed by Austinite John Bryant.
It's about arch rival brothers that come home for Christmas to find out some secret information about why one of the brothers is considered to be the least favorite. It sends them on a hilarious cross-country journey to find out the truth about themselves and their family. The Overbrook Brothers screens Saturday at 10pm at the Paramount Theater.
The coming of age story that's masquerading as a romantic comedy is called 500 Days of Summer. It stars Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levit.
It's the story of boy meets girl with a few odd twists and turns along the way.
“A lot of the love stories that come out of Hollywood they sell you a bill of goods that are pandering to you with a bunch of falsehoods, they simplify love and love is not simple,” said actor Joseph Gordon-Levit who plays Sam.
“It opened up these feelings like I remember feeling this way and being so affected by a woman and all the emotions that get balled up inside,” said Marc Webb, the director of 500 Days of Summer.
The stars will walk the red carpet at 7 p.m. Saturday night outside the Paramount Theater.
