AUSTIN, Texas (KXAN) - A mannequin named Rhonda, stolen from the First Rate Fixtures store in Austin, Texas, has apparently started traveling around the country to get away from the Central Texas heat.

Leah Leissner is the mannequin's owner. "Rhonda" apparently sent a postcard just a few days ago from the Arthur J. Ravenel, Jr. Bridge in Charleston, South Carolina .

The postcard read:

"My Dear Leah, just a note to let you know I am fine - just needed to get away for some cool down time.       Charleston is a beautiful city. The cool ocean breeze has helped alot. Do you have any idea how hot it was up there? Winter is not bad, but this summer heat was killing me!
Take care, hope to see you soon. Will travel on and keep you posted. Tell all hi for me.
Much Love, y'all hear ~Rhonda"

The missing mannequin was first reported last week . "Rhonda" was stolen in the middle of the night on Friday, Aug. 6. Thieves climbed on top of an awning over the front door of First Rate Fixtures, cut through a thick chain, and took "Rhonda" from her perch.

“It was a heavy duty one. So they came prepared. I think they probably watched her, came back. Needed a date that night," laughed Leissner.

Her whereabouts have been a mystery until now, but Leissner is still skeptical.

"I think this is a diversionary tactic and 'Rhonda' is still in town - it's hard to imagine someone actually hauling a mannequin all over the US. But, the postcard is postmarked from Charleston," Leissner wrote.

Leissner does say that  "Rhonda" is a nomad at heart. Before coming to the First Rate Fixtures store here in Austin, "Rhonda" traveled from New York to St. Louis.

"Rhonda" is one of two mannequins stolen in the past several weeks. KXAN reported a mannequin from Mel's Meals on North Lamar was also stolen about a month ago . Thieves broke through the front glass door, walked past the cash in the cash register and the food stored in the bins, and went right for the mannequin.

The rest of it is still missing.
