AUSTIN, Texas (KXAN) - Midday Thursday, a number of law enforcement agencies came together in pursuit of a man who was on foot, naked in East Austin.
Austin Police Department, Department of Public Safety and Travis County Sheriff's Office tracked him to the intersection of Airport Boulevard and U.S. Highway 290 near U.S. Highway 183 before a canine unit caught up with him.
The man, who appeared to be in his 20s or 30s, walked out into a field where officers found him and put him into a squad car.
Police said the call came into dispatch at 12:04 p.m., which said a man wearing only underwear was walking in the 5400 block of East Martin Luther King, Jr., Boulevard.
When officers arrived, they saw him remove the rest of his clothes and walk into the wooded area nearby. A TCSO canine unit found him and he came out of the wooded area at about 12:35 p.m.
Initial reports said he was running through the streets.
Ausitn Police Department is calling it "an emotionally disturbed person" case.
Temperatures outside were in the 40s on Thursday when the incident happened.
A KXAN reporter and photographer were driving in the area on their way to an assignment, saw four squad cars, which were joined by the events unfold and filmed the man's capture.
The man's identity was not available.
