ZIONSVILLE, Ind. (CNN/WISH) - Wednesday's Powerball drawing could be one for the history books.

The jackpot is already $500 million, and it's still growing. Millions of Americans in 42 states are trying to parlay $2 into half a billion dollars.

Meanwhile, Indiana's Hoosier Lottery is giving away 3,500 tickets statewide.

Unfortunately, Powerball players have a greater chance of being bitten by a shark than winning the cash haul.

The Powerball came to Texas in January 2010.

So you just won the $500 million Powerball jackpot, the second highest in lottery history. Now what? Lessons from some of the big winners.

See what your odds are of winning, and what happens if you do.
