MELBOURNE, Australia (NBC/RTV) - A kangaroo decided to check in at Melbourne Airport on Monday, surprising fellow travelers and the airport's security staff.
The animal, a young female, managed to get stuck on the fifth floor of a multistory parking garage.
Airport security were alerted to the kangaroo after a traveler uploaded a photo of the animal to twitter.
A wildlife officer was called in and sedated the animal with a tranquilizer gun.
A vet who examined the kangaroo at the scene said it had sore paws and would spend the night at a clinic before being released back into the wild
