SAN ANTONIO (KXAN) - Two soldiers originally assigned to Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio are accused of producing child pornography, according to federal court documents.
The Criminal Investigative Division at Fort Sam Houston contacted the Federal Bureau of Investigation in August to investigate a potential child pornography case.
When the FBI started looking in the case, they discovered that Sgt. Kimberly Epperson, assigned to Fort Sam Houson, had been producing child pornography of a 3-year-old boy.
According to the criminal complaint, Epperson's boyfriend, Sgt. Wade Perkins, assigned to Fort Hood in Killeen , asked her to make the videos and pictures. The images and videos were sent to Perkins via text messaging and emails.
Epperson told authorities that her relationship with Perkins started in February 2011 at Fort Sam Houston -- where both were assigned.
After several months of dating, Epperson said Perkins approached her about having sexual relations with the 3-year-old boy.
In November 2011, Perkins was transferred to Fort Hood but authorities said the pornographic images were still being sent for several more months.
When Perkins was interviewed by the FBI he said he "is an excellent 'manipulator.'"
Both Perkins and Epperson have been charged with production of child pornography. Both individuals have detention hearings later this week.
