GEORGETOWN, Texas (KXAN) - Georgetown Independent School District sent a letter home to parents warning them about a suspicious couple driving around and approaching students after they get off the school bus.
Not wanting to cause alarm, the letter alerts parents to the important part of talking to children about stranger-danger. Also, they encourage students to use the buddy system when they go home.
"In partnership with the Georgetown Police Department and the Williamson County Sheriff's Department, we have been advised that this couple is broadening their area," reads the letter. "In response to this, we are informing all Georgetown ISD parents about this potentially dangerous situation."
The couple is described as driving an older-model silver vehicle.
"Again, we do not want to cause anyone undue alarm, but we do ask that you talk with your child about speaking with strangers, walking with a buddy, and using good safety practices, but especially as they are walking from the bus to home at this time."
They rushed to send out a release to parents, knowing the safety of the children was at risk.
"We didn't want to risk it, being Halloween and all," said Dr. Boring.
