CHICAGO (NBC) - Hundreds of Chicago school kids helped create an amazing work of art Thursday. The painting shows what can happen when 800 kids from Chicago get together with an aerial artist, creating a 150-foot portrait of President-Elect Barack Obama.

National conceptual artist Daniel Dancer is the mastermind behind the sky art, and the kids positioned themselves wearing red, white or black clothes. Then, with a little help from some mulch, driftwood and hundreds of cans and bottles, this sky view image of obama came to life.

The kids were from Alex Haley and Windell Phillips elementary schools in Chicago. Dancer's resume includes images of birds, animals from the sea and even commercial products such as Coke and Pepsi.
