WASHINGTON D.C. (CNN) - Some culinary students got an inside look of the White House kitchen this weekend.
First Lady Michelle Obama invited six aspiring chefs from Gaithersburg, Maryland to learn about preparing official dinners.
They arrived just hours before the Obamas had their first official dinner with the nation's governors.
The first lady said her family is a big fan of the staff's waffles and grits for breakfast.
And she said the soups and salads are quite tasty too. As for the president, he is a fan of the kitchen's scallops and pie.
