AUSTIN (KXAN) - Texas Senators gave final approval Monday to voter ID bill, which would require voters to show a photo ID at the polls before casting a ballot. A driver's license, military ID, passport, personal ID, or concealed handgun permit would be allowed under SB 14 .

The measure would also create a new ID issued by the state just for voting. Provisional ballots would also be acceptable, but voters would have to present an ID within six days in order for their voter to count.

The House must still approve this version of the bill, which is expected to happen. Then Gov. Rick Perry, who deemed the bill an emergency item, would be able to sign it into law.
