AUSTIN (KXAN) - All the senators will be at the Senate Tuesday to hear from the public on the voter ID bill, a bill that already caused controversy this session when Senate Republicans changed the rules in order to get this legislation passed.

The voter ID bill would require voters bring a photo ID to the polls. It is a very partisan issue. Republicans said it will prevent voter fraud. Democrats said it is only to prevent minorities and low-income voters from going to the polls. On Monday, a group of Democratic Senators spoke out about the issue. Many are angry because since the rules were changed so only a majority of the senate is needed to approve the bill, they may not be able to block it this year.
