Casey James is a Texas native who joined the KXAN team in May 2012.

A Texas AP award winner, Casey James started his career in Las Vegas at CBS affiliate KLAS-TV working the assignment desk. He then found his way back to the Lone Star state reporting for ABC affiliate KTXS-TV in Abilene.

Casey first sparked an interest in journalism during his time in the military. Honorably serving in the naval intelligence, Casey was exposed to a vast array of world experiences. Sharing people’s stories is Casey's passion and main goal in journalism.

During the 2011 Texas wildfires, Casey was able to tell dozens of Texans' heartbreaking, emotional and inspiring stories. Casey reported on 30 plus wildfires gaining the trust of firefighters, Texas Forest Service and communities. Millions of acres were burned, thousands of homes destroyed, lives lost but it didn't break the spirit of Texans.

Casey looks at life as an adventure and is up for any twists and turns. Living in San Diego, Los Angeles and Las Vegas for the past 10 years, many life experiences have been learned. Traveling is a great way to keep learning and Casey enjoys getting away as much as possible.

Casey also regularly visits his therapist -- the gym.
