What's your position?

Weekend Meteorologist/Reporter

When did you start at KXAN?

October 2008

What was your most memorable story?

The spring of 2008 was a busy severe weather season in the upper Midwest. After a couple weeks in a row of severe weather outbreaks, western Iowa was hit with a strong line of storms that produced a tornado near Little Sioux, IA. The tornado hit a boy scout camp there and killed four scouts as the storm destroyed the building they took shelter in. However, the most amazing stories of heroism came out of that tragedy. It took some time for emergency services to reach the kids but when they did they found the scouts performing first aid on each other. The positive way people react to disastrous situations always astounds me.

How did you get started in TV?

I never thought I wanted to be a broadcast meteorologist but after an internship during college I fell in love with it. That internship turned into a fill-in weather position at KRCG in Jefferson City, MO and after I graduated I took a position with KCAU-TV in Sioux City, IA.

University of Missouri-Columbia

What's your hometown?

St. Louis, MO

What's your favorite food?

I'm really not a picky eater and since I love to cook and bake I'm always trying new things.
