What's your position?
Meteorologist
When did you start at KXAN?
October 2008
What was your most memorable story?
I’ve covered a ton of great weather-related stories since moving to Austin. One of my favorites was about a group of scientists who are using radar to study the flight patterns of bats.
How did you get started in TV?
I always knew I wanted to study the weather. I picked my profession by the time I was in 6th grade! But, I never really considered being a broadcast meteorologist until college. I interned at KRCG in Jefferson City, MO and fell in love with it. That internship turned into a fill-in weather position. After I graduated I took a position with KCAU-TV in Sioux City, Iowa.
Where did you go to college?
University of Missouri-Columbia
What's your hometown?
St. Louis, Mo.
What's your favorite thing about Austin?
My husband and I adopted, “Bruce," a lab/shepherd mix in 2010. I love how dog-friendly Austin is. One of our favorite spots to let him run is Red Bud Isle.
What's your guilty pleasure?
Candy. I can’t say no to it. There’s a reason why I don’t keep any in the house.
What's your favorite band or musician?
Bruce Springsteen
What's your favorite movie?
I love going to the movies but don't really have a favorite. However, I can watch "Sixteen Candles" over and over again.
What's your favorite TV show?
I follow more than I’d like to admit.
What's your favorite food?
I love soup, all kinds of soup and especially chicken tortilla.
