Lead Investigator, Chris Willis, joined the KXAN team in December 1999 as Morning News Anchor. 

After earning his degree from Washington State University, Chris has held various positions around the country in the broadcast news industry.  After interning at KHON in Honolulu, Chris got his first job at the ABC affiliate in Tri-Cities, Washington as their Weekend Sports Anchor.  He then made his way to the NBC station in Helena, Montana where he was hired as the station’s News Director and Evening Anchor.  After his stay in Montana, Chris was hired as News Director and Evening Anchor at the CBS affiliate in Yuma, Arizona.  Before making his way to Austin, Chris was the Evening Anchor at the CBS affiliate in Chattanooga, Tennessee.  

Chris Willis is a team member of the 2010 Winner for Best Morning Newscast as voted by the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters.

When Chris is not hard at work, he enjoys waterskiing on Lake Austin with his family.
