Brian came to Austin by way of West Texas, where the Friday night football fever runs deep. Prior to getting the weekend sports anchor job at KXAN Austin News, Brian began his broadcasting career as an intern with the WFAA sports team in Dallas.

What was your most memorable story?
I took part in the Military Firefighter Combat Challenge for a story in San Angelo. We had to carry a hose up six flights of stairs, hammer a 100-pound cinderblock, and drag a 150-pound dummy. Needless to say, I did not make the team, but it was a lot of fun.
How did you get started in TV?
I was an engineering major at Texas A&M, but after a year in the field, I decided to get into sales. While working at WFAA in Dallas, I put together the sports resume tape that landed me my first job at KSAN in San Angelo.

What's your favorite thing about Austin?
It doesn't feel like any other place I've ever lived.

I am an only child. My mom and dad both live in the Houston area, and I'm lucky that I get to see them often.
