NEW YORK CITY (KXAN) -

KXAN education reporter Erin Cargile and photojournalist Julie Karam are in New York City to spotlight solutions for the biggest challenges facing public education.

For the third year in a row, NBC News is hosting a national Education Nation Summit in New York City. The three-day event will bring together more than 300 of the country's thought leaders in education, government, business, philanthropy and media.

Cargile will profile a Central Texas teacher meeting challenges in the classroom Sunday night on KXAN News at 10 p.m. KXAN News nominated her to attend.

The summit kicked off with a town hall meeting with Anchor Brian Williams Sunday afternoon. Find out more about the summit here.
