(NBC) - Between Craigslist and eBay, people are used to buying and selling things online, but a new Web site wants people to rent some of their household items. For example, a person who has a drill in their garage gathering dust, Zilok offers renting it out for $10 a day.

"It's a new way to save money and to make money by renting the things that they have and don't use all the time to other people who need them," said Jeff Boudier, with Zilok.com.

The key to the Web site is renting from a neighbor. The two parties work out a price, the Web site takes a cut and the deal is made.

The company said since every transaction is backed up by a contract, people are protected if things get broken or stolen. The company has been in business for one year, and it said it has had no problems so far.
