(CNN) - You know that dogs have got extraordinarily-strong senses of smell.

But you may have never seen it put to such good use as this. A very special pup in Wisconsin is being credited with helping to uncover vital clues in two recent fires.

One of them was an East Side blaze that destroyed ten apartments and three restaurants, including the beloved "Pizza Man."

"Moon can do in five minutes what can take us five days to do," said Agent Jeff Fennig, deputy fire marshal.

When Moon finds a scent of any flammable liquids, he will scratch at it and sit down. He is a 6-year-old black lab. His value is estimated at $50,000.

"It's great to be part of that team," said Fennig. "Moon doesn't declare it an arson by himself. He's another tool that investigators can use.
