FORT HOOD, Texas (KXAN) - Fort Hood officials have released the name of a soldier who died Sept. 10 from injuries sustained from an apparent gunshot wound in Copperas Cove, Texas.
He was later was pronounced deceased at Scott & White Hospital, Temple, Texas.
Chief Warrant Officer 2 Jeremy Fenison, 31, whose home of record is Las Vegas, Nev., entered active duty service in August 1999. He was commissioned in July 2008 as an Engineer Equipment Maintenance Warrant Officer.
He arrived at Fort Hood Sept. 6 and was assigned to 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood.
Fenison deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom from July 2011 to July 2012.
Fenison awards and decorations include a Bronze Star Medal, three Army Commendation Medals, two Army Achievement Medals, two Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Media with campaign star, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, NATO Medal and Driver and Mechanic Badge.
