AUSTIN (KXAN) - Athletes young and old and of all shapes and sizes will be hitting the streets this weekend for a good cause- women's health. The Zooma race will have runners plotted along near Bastrop at the Hyatt Lost Pines Resort.
"Bringing together this really fun event where women can come with friends and family and accomplish a challenging fitness goal is a really cool thing and hopefully change peoples lives," said Brae Blackley, executive director of Zooma Women's Race Series.
Blackley started the race last year and will take it to four cities this year. The location for the Austin race is at the Hyatt at Lost Pines out in Bastrop.
"I think people have lots of opportunities to run in Downtown Austin, lots of great opportunities, and we wanted to offer something unique," said Blackley.
It is unique because after the race there are spa treatments, champagne and brunch. All those extras are included in the race fee.
The 5K is $55 and the half-marathon is $95. Registration is open Friday at The Belmont from 2 p.m. to 8pm. Here's the race itself:
