Yazdi-Avery Ranch death case reset
Attorney doesn't expect trial for months

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) - The first-degree murder case against Avery Ranch resident Fred Yazdi, also known as Farzad Fakhriyazdi, was reset Monday and pushed to Nov. 1.
The indictment of Yazdi was handed down by the Williamson County grand jury.
Defense attorney Robert Phillips said he doesn't expect a trial date to be set for awhile.
Yazdi was arrested in the death of Enrique Recio, 23, who crashed his car into a retaining wall along Avery Ranch Boulevard just before 3 a.m. on Feb. 3. He ran to Staked Plains Drive, but returned to his vehicle and ended up driving back to the same street, according to reports.
Police said Recio entered onto Yazdi's property at 11300 block of Staked Plains Drive and was allegedly confronted by Yazdi, holding a firearm.
According to the property owner, he shot Recio as he attempted to flee.
Recio's body was found on the other side of a short, metal fence across the driveway and off Yazdi's property.
