Expected to open in spring 2013

PFLUGERVILLE, Texas (KXAN) - Scott & White Healthcare announced Tuesday it plans to build a new medical clinic on an acre that sits at 1501 Pecan Street. The clinic is expected to open in spring 2013 and will replace the current facility.

The new health clinic will include primary care, extended hours, physical therapy services and services provided by specialists.

“By bringing additional services to Pflugerville, we can better serve our patients and bring them the care they need closer to home,” said Colleen Sundquist, regional administrator for the clinics at Scott & White Healthcare – Round Rock. “When we combine primary care physicians, specialty physicians, and therapists all in one location, it’s a win-win for our patients and physicians.”

The clinic will feature 18 exam rooms, one treatment room, on-site X-ray, laboratory services and a therapy gym. The current Scott & White - Pflugerville clinic has six exam rooms and about 3,000 square feet.

“By building a larger clinic to serve our patients in Pflugerville, we’re responding to a growing demand in the community for additional services and more space," added Sundquist. "We’ve outgrown our current location, and a larger clinic will offer more convenient care in the right place at the right time for patients in Pflugerville and those coming in from outlying communities.”

Chau Nguyen, D.O., a family medicine physician at the current Scott & White Clinic – Pflugerville and new family medicine physician Catherine Meshew, M.D., will be seeing patients at the new clinic, which will accommodate up to six primary care physicians.

Scott & White signed an agreement with developer Highline Real Estate Group of Dallas to build and lease the new space, which sits on a 1.243-acre lot.
