CEDAR PARK, Texas (KXAN) - Today at Lakeline mall the Caring Santa heard the Christmas wishes of children with special needs.
The event provided a calmer environment for the children to talk with the man in the big red suit. The elevators are shut down and the lights are dimmer so there are fewer sensory triggers.
Children got to take pictures and discuss what's on their list this year.
Parent Victoria Polega said, "This is an incredible opportunity for my son to visit with Santa without all the stress of waiting in line. Santa was incredibly patient and kind."
Santa Claus told KXAN "To see these kids when they first come up and they see, just the light in their eye is just unbelievable. It really is unbelievable. It's such a blessing."
It is the second year the event has been held. It was developed by the Simon Property Group and the program was at malls across the country.
