ROUND ROCK, Texas (AP) — Scott & White Healthcare has completed a $40 million, 58,000-square-foot expansion at its Round Rock campus.
Officials said Monday that the expansion increases the size of Scott & White Healthcare-Round Rock by one-fourth, to 102 beds. The expansion at the nearly 5-year-old hospital also includes 26 new intensive care and general medical/surgical beds.
The surgery area has nearly doubled to nine rooms, and the emergency department has grown from 11 to 19 beds.
The Austin American-Statesman reports that Ernie Bovio, CEO of Scott & White Healthcare-Round Rock region, says that the demand for services in the area continues to grow.
In the future, officials plan to add another patient bed tower and medical office building.
